Its not often you get to take 3 months off work! So when Microsoft awarded me the MS Achievement Award which comes with an 8-12 week sabbatical I was floored! We were tempted to wait and take it at a later date, but a number of factors made this a perfect time to travel. We just shipped Windows 8.1 and hardware is well on track. There was a cruise leaving for New Zealand this coming weekend, it had one cabin left, the quarterly cruise magazine arrived that same day, and the kids school was supportive!
So we’re off… 41 night cruise from Seattle to Auckland, then a week renting an RV in the North Island of New Zealand followed by 2 weeks with family in Christchurch on the South Island.
We’ll be on this itinerary and we hope to be able to post some updates on the blog as we go! This time next week we’ll be sailing from Seattle to LA prior to setting course for Hawaii on Wednesday Oct 2nd. But for now tons to arrange with the house sitting, packing and planning for what to do at each place!!
